Scholarship Funds

In addition to the funds that are directed to assist the community at large, the Foundation also maintains funds that are specific to assisting students with their educational endeavours. These scholarship funds have specific criteria which should be considered.

Camden East Women's Institute Scholarship Fund

An annual scholarship for a Napanee District Secondary School (NDSS) student to attend a community college, as follows.The student should be a resident of the Camden East Ward #1/Newburgh Ward #2 areas; Representatives from the Guidance Department at NDSS will choose the student using the criteria and guidelines as set out by the Camden East Women's Institute; The Foundation shall distribute the scholarship amounts to Canadian qualified donees for the benefit of the scholarship recipient. All distributions will be identified as coming from the Fund

Goodyear Scholarship Fund

We continue to distribute grant(s) from this Fund as part of our general Call for Applications for grants from the L&A Community until Goodyear establishes specific criteria for a scholarship

The Werk Poole Student Bursary Award

With discussion and approval from the Poole Family this annual grant has been used to sponsor workshops annually for Youth to develop leadership skills

100th Anniversary Scholarship Fund

The award shall be considered annually for a high school graduating student, resident of L&A County who has been accepted into a social work program (BSW or MSW) at a Canadian University. The student will have demonstrated knowledge of, and interest in, social work issues. Community ties and volunteering would be possible indicators. In the event that an appropriate applicant is not forthcoming, the scholarship selection committee will recommend disbursement of the annual proceeds to one or more students whose training is already underway

Lloyd Seeley Family Scholarship Fund

An annual scholarship for a Prince Edward Collegiate Secondary School (PECI) student to attend a community college, college or university as follows: This student should be a resident of Prince Edward County; Representatives from the Guidance Department at PECI will choose the student using the criteria and guidelines as set out by the Seeley Family; The Foundation shall distribute the scholarship amounts to Canadian qualified donees for the benefit of the scholarship recipient. All distributions will be identified as coming from the Fund

Charlotte Uens Education Scholarship Fund

This fund is open to students of Napanee District Secondary School only and is intended for students who are pursuing post-secondary education either through University, College or an Apprenticeship program. The number of scholarships will fluctuate from year to year dependent upon capital investment returns. Since 2010 The Charlotte Uens Education Fund has provided one year scholarships towards tuition costs in the following areas and for the maximum stated amounts: University scholarships - $6,000; College scholarships - $3,500; Apprenticeship scholarships - $1,000.
